Cooking was difficult in this 100 year old St. Paul kitchen. Our design team made the most of limited space by blocking off a little-used doorway and providing our client with creative storage solutions that maximized the small 10×12 room.
One of the challenges that our team faced during this project was a cluster of plumbing pipes coming from the floor above that would have been costly to relocate. Our designer’s solution was to box around them and covert the space into a “drop zone” for purses and shoes when entering the back door.
The finished kitchen blends in perfectly with the 1915 home, yet still provides all of the modern conveniences that our client wished for, including Cambria quartz countertops, stainless appliances, and undercabinet lighting. Since the room is so small, every inch is valuable, so the cabinets are equipped with numerous custom features to maximize the storage space.
“Eric and his crew took an old, 1915 kitchen with too many doors, too little cabinetry, and a ton of issues and turned into a beautiful, modern kitchen. They installed new cabinetry, plumbing, electrical, lighting and appliances. They painted window trim and an old door, and matched old birch molding. They also put up drywall over one of the doorways to create more space in the kitchen and then matched the wood trim on the other side of the doorway. You can’t even tell the door was there, and the trim matches beautifully. And of course the kitchen is gorgeous!
I can’t say enough good things about Allrounder. Eric and his crew are professional, communicate well, stick to their timeline even when they’re thrown curve balls, work hard, and most important of all they do great work! Eric met with me to review kitchen plans. He then wrote up a detailed estimate. Once we’d gone over the work to be done he created a timeline for when the work would likely be completed. We then chose cabinetry, a sink, faucet, under cabinet lighting, etc and he was very patient as I changed my mind a number of times! Once the work started, the crew was on time and worked hard through a challenging project. On more than one occasion they stayed until 9:00 or 10:00 at night (after asking of course!) because cabinetry had arrived late or other things occurred that were out of their control, so they could stay on schedule. And the kitchen is gorgeous! I can’t point to anything I would have done differently, and I know if there was something I was dissatisfied with Eric would take care of it in a heartbeat. Eric and his crew really care about the work they do and they do it well, qualities that are hard to find these days. I’ve already used Allrounder for a number of other jobs, and would hire them again anytime.”

“Thoughtful design & execution, including custom cabinetry with pull-out drawers, Cambria countertops, & high-end appliances. The kitchen seamlessly integrates the home’s original character with today’s desired amenities.”
