South St. Paul Bathroom Remodel

This home in South St. Paul was built in the 1940’s, and showed many signs of aging.  After demolition and before the finish work began, upgrades were made to the aging plumbing and electrical systems.  In addition, the original window was replaced with a more efficient glass block window.

To gain some space in the tiny bathroom, the door was replaced with a pocket door.  To add some much-needed storage, a linen closet was built with custom oak cabinetry surrounding it.  Space for the closet was borrowed from an adjacent bedroom closet.

Our clients wish to live in their home for as long as possible, so some aging-in-place touches were added as well.  As designers, we are grateful to the fixture manufacturers fro finally providing grab bars and other accessories that don’t look so institutional.

The beautiful finishes in this bathroom include porcelain tile, fixtures from Delta, and a clear glass shower door that allows the beautiful tile work and additional light from the window to show through.
